Olive Branch Funding was recently involved in a defamation lawsuit as plaintiff, filed against J.G. Wentworth and its parent company, JLL Partners. According to the complaint, a Wentworth employee had contacted Olive Branch clients stating that it did not have the resources to fund their cases. The case was dismissed on grounds that Olive Branch had failed to prove that the actions of the Wentworth employee was fraudulent or constituted interference with business relations through “wrongful means.”
